Who we are

SONEXA is a free study website and Android app for NEET, JEE, CBSE and NDA students, run by SONEXA. This policy explains what we collect when you use the website (sonexa-app.pages.dev) and the SONEXA app, and how we use it. Contact: official.sonexa@gmail.com.

What you can do without an account

Practising papers, chapter questions and the Daily 10 needs no account. Your test answers, scores, mistakes, streaks and settings are saved only on your own device (browser storage or the app) and are not sent to us.

What we collect

• Account details: your username, a hashed (scrambled) version of your password, and a hashed version of your one-time recovery code. We never store or see your actual password.
• Optional profile details: display name, bio, exam and class, if you choose to add them.
• Date of birth for accounts that sign in with Google, to confirm you are 18 or older for the 18+ features.
• Google sign-in: if you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email address and name. We use only the basic sign-in permissions (openid, email, profile). We do not get your Google password or access to your Gmail, contacts or files.
• Content you post: doubts, answers and photos you post. These are public: anyone, including people without an account, can see them along with your display name and username.
• Activity in the community: likes, saved doubts, buddy requests and buddies, blocks, and the notifications we show you.
• Messages (18+ accounts only): the text messages you send and receive, so they can be delivered.
• Reports: reports you make or that others make about content or accounts, with the reason.
• Basic analytics: we count page visits with GoatCounter, which sets no cookies and does not store your IP address. It records totals such as which pages are opened, the referring site, browser and device type, screen size and country/state.
• Feedback: if you send feedback, your message and any name or contact you choose to add are emailed to us.

Why we use it

• To run SONEXA: create and secure your account, show your profile, doubts, answers, buddies, notifications and messages.
• To keep users safe: enforce age rules, block contact-information sharing in chat, review reports, and remove content or accounts that break the rules. When a chat is reported, the SONEXA team can read that conversation to review it.
• To understand which pages and features are used, as totals, so we can improve the site.

Messages and age rules

Private messages are available only to accounts verified as 18+ through Google sign-in. Users under 18 cannot send or receive messages. Buddy requests are only possible between users of the same age group. Messages are text only. They are stored on our server and are not end-to-end encrypted.

Children and students under 18

SONEXA is made for students, including school students. If you are under 18, we expect you to use SONEXA with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. Students under 13 should use it only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child’s account or data by emailing us.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We do not show ads and do not use advertising trackers. We do not send newsletters or marketing emails.

Who processes the data

SONEXA is hosted on cloud infrastructure that stores the data and serves the site; the hosting provider processes your IP address to deliver pages and keep the service secure. Google processes your sign-in if you choose Google sign-in. Feedback emails are delivered by the FormSubmit service. If you share a doubt to WhatsApp or another app, that app’s own privacy policy applies to what you share there.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, doubts, answers, photos, likes, saves, buddies, notifications and messages from SONEXA. You can also email official.sonexa@gmail.com to ask us to delete your data. Practice data saved on your device can be removed by clearing the site’s data in your browser or uninstalling the app.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. For important changes we will show a notice in SONEXA.
